Why I Eat Rainbow Sprinkles

Why I eat rainbow sprinkles
This may sound very peculiar to most. I love rainbow sprinkles. My sister often reminds me of how stupid and wasteful eating rainbow sprinkles is. "They're just starch and food colouring. Why waste your calories and money?"
I've finally figured out why I eat rainbow sprinkles. (People do this with all sorts of things) I eat rainbow sprinkles because they won't let me down. They will always stay the same. I'm not saying I don't like change sometimes, but through the constant pain, it's easier to not change something you find comforting. The bold carnival colours leave traces across the vanilla ice cream and mix in the cold to create a nice crunch. After you chew the tiny pieces, they leave a smooth film of the roof of your mouth. In my life, sprinkles have been my binge food on top of ice cream when times get rough. They have held me up when others couldn't.
That is why I eat sprinkles. Sure, chocolate sprinkles are good too, but the colours paint the path to a bolder brighter future.
Love,
A Past You
